Another new arrival due early June 2010..

Well it has been a busy time, if you have been keeping up to date you should know about Toshi arriving in a few weeks but he will not be the only one..

Tricia has also decided to get a Bengal furkid, although it was not nearly as straight forward a decision as mine, there are strange and wonderful things happening and this is a prime example..

You should be aware that Tricia is my pal who was owned by Clawdius, and the sad story of how Clawdius lost the battle against FIP. If not, then go and read the other posts which deal with that then come back to this one

Sad news..

I have not spent much time on the website lately so this news is from a while ago.

Unfortunately our wee Clawdius developed FIP (Feline infectious peritonitis) and he lost the battle to live on 12th March 2010.

We all miss him dearly and always will, he was such a special wee man, he will be playing happily at Rainbow Bridge until we meet him again.

It is little consolation but his life was not in vain, since he went to Rainbow Bridge we have been doing our best to bring the so called ‘breeder’, who’s poor treatment of these animals was ultimately responsible for Clawdius’s poor health and immune system, to book for their actions. They were keeping three breeding queens in a small room in what the SSPCA described as “Wholly inadequate conditions” and undoubtedly other kittens coming from that source would also be likely to suffer a similar fate.

Arrived At Parents House For Christmas

I am here, arrived at my parents house about 4:45PM Friday.

The drive down from ScottyLand was fairly uneventful, apart from some crazy mutha white van man who decided he wanted to pass me as I was passing slow moving lorries in the other lane.

I was doing about 60, which I think was plenty fast enough anyway given that there was snow on the edges of the carriage way and it was below freezing out, the lorries were doing about 50. This retard in a white Merc van starts flashing his headlights at me from behind, there was no where for me to pull into the slower moving lane without cutting in dangerously close to a lorry so I just carried on (not that I would have changed lanes for a retard flashing headlights anyway)

I Clawdius

Clawdius is my pal Tricia’s new mad cat!

She brought him round to my new flat to visit yesterday so I took the opportunity to fire off a few snaps of him before he gets past the cute kitten stage

My two grumpy cats were not entirely impressed and spent most of the time sulking on the back of the couch or hissing & growling, unfortunately for them Claudius wasn’t put off by it and did his best to wind them up even more LOL

I’m All moved in now :)

Yes at last I am in my new flat!

I have re-built the water damaged bay window, and as I suspected the moggies love the new cat friendly wide sills. Spike practically lives on there now watching the world go by.

I have also had the place carpeted with a nice black cat unfriendly light colour carpet, that made a hell of a difference I can tell you

The shitty electric token meter has been removed at last, can’t get the gas token meter out for a month though because its from a different supplier so I have to wait till the service has been transferred to my supplier Grrrr On the plus side, I have downgraded my internet connection to a 10mbit connection but now get land line telephone and basic digital TV package included for 12 quid a month less than I was paying for just internet.

Let the decorating begin..

Been busy in the new flat today, starting the decorating!

I really really hate painting, I loath it, detest it, it drives me up the wall – literally. But I don’t have enough money to get someone else to do it so I suppose I have to

I made a start with the ceiling in the living room painting it white, I don’t know why but I just don’t like off white or cream coloured ceilings. I started preparing the walls, they have been painted over wall paper but the paper joins are overlapping and there are lumps and bumps in it so I scraped, filled and sanded them smooth (ish).

Moving Again..

Yes, for the umpteenth time this year I am moving house again!

I have just been offered a housing association flat just round the corner and as my current landlord just isn’t interested in getting repairs done I have decided to take it.

Its only one bedroom and has a combined living room/ kitchen, but its not too bad a size. Only problem is now I need carpets, curtains, fridge freezer, washing machine and shit loads of paint & decorating stuff because its far from perfect condition.

So, chances are I am not going to be on here as much for a while.

I really, really, hate moving house – this is DEFINITELY the last time (this year lol)

Paisley Xmas Lights Ceremony

Yes its that time of year again (Bah Humbug) and Paisley has just had its annual lighting up ceremony which I went to have a butchers at.

I was determined that I was not going to get moved into a position where my photos had an ugly lamp post in the middle of them this time so I positioned myself well back where the crowd wouldn’t reach.. Or so I thought. I still ended up with a few ignorant ned types who thought its perfectly acceptable behaviour to just barge past kicking the tripod on route Grrrr

Renfrewshire – Paisley Annual Fireworks Display 2009

Remember remember the 5th of November..

Last night was bonfire night and I got dragged off to watch the Renfrewshire Annual Fireworks Display by my pals Linda & Tricia so I took my trusty D80 and tripod to capture the event in glorious technicolour digital bits.

The event included a roadshow by a local Radio station which featured some pretty awful sound system, get some bass in there ffs. There were a few rides etc for the kids and of course the main attraction was the fireworks display.

We arrived at the location nice and early to bag a good vantage point, stood there for over an hour camera and tripod ready (anger level 3/10), then the ‘organisers’ said the area had to be cleared for safety reasons, moved us on and erected barriers (anger level 6/10)
