I am still learning how this wordpress thingy works but I also think I am getting there now..

I have made some changes to the theme files to fix some layout and display issues, this was mostly to eliminate me having to manually adjust the style of these depending where they were posted so won’t be a great deal different from your side.

I have been trying to work out an easy way to include a block of links in the articles, the main reason being tutorials like the DIY Camera Controller are spread over several posts and I wanted you to be able to jump to the other related posts without a lot of faffing about trying to find them.

You may have noticed I was including a set of links at the end of each post but this has become very tiresome as I had to edit every related post to update the links as I add further sections to the tutorial GRRRR.

I found a solution in the Adsense Deluxe Plugin, with this plugin I can create blocks of HTML in the admin interface and include them in posts with an HTML comment. This means I only have to edit the block of links once in the plugin settings and it is reflected in all the posts automatically. Yipeeeee

But another problem raised its ugly head, that is I could float a block of links in the top right of the post as I wanted but that looked pretty stupid in the view on the home page because the links were shown. So after a bit of jiggery pokery, I modified the theme file that displays a single post to include the adsense block which is named in a custom field at the top right of the post only when you view the full post. I am really starting to like this wordpress a lot, I think I am going to venture into plugin writing next

I added the latest Flickr photos widget thing, which is part of the Flickr Manager Plugin, over in the sidebar so you can see my latest 6 photos uploaded, and made a change to that also to add a border round the thumbnails

Another change you probably did notice is the header, every time I looked at the standard theme header I thought that looks really shite, so after 10 minutes of photo-shopping, one of my recent photos from the fireworks display and a bit of fiddling with the theme CSS I got this nice shiny new header in place.

[EDIT] I have now made the header image transparent which is even better
